Passport Requirements:
- Passport must be valid at least 6 (six) months on arrival.
- Surinamese travelers must present a valid passport. Expired passports will not be accepted.
- Those residing in Suriname may enter with travel documents valid on arrival.
- Passports issued by the United Nations to stateless persons and refugees are accepted, provided they have obtained approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to arrival.
Visa is required:
- For all applicants except for holders of passports of countries which have a visa exemption agreement with Suriname.

Visa Exemptions for:
- Holders of “Laisser-Passers', issued by the United Nations, whilst travelling on duty
- Holders of an official travel document issued by the Organization of American States
- Nationals of Suriname
- Nationals of The Netherlands Antilles and Aruba; Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Dominica, Gambia, Grenada, Guyana, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Korea (Rep), Philippines, Singapore, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago for a maximum stay of 90 days;
- Holders of British passports endorsed 'British Overseas Territories Citizen', provided issued in Montserrat;
- Holders of Hong Kong (SAR China) passports;
- Holders of Diplomatic or Service passports
- Holders of a Residence Permit
- Nationals of Malaysia for a stay of 30 days
- Holders of an Organization of American States official travel document
Transit Visa:
Those having a third country as their final destination must apply for a transit visa prior to embarkation. The visa and airline ticket for the final destination must be presented.
A transit visa has a validity of 3 days.
Transit without visa is not applicable
Tourist Card:
As of 1st March 2016, Tourist Cards has been introduced for India among other countries. These are solely intended for tourism purpose.
Visa Issuance:
Visa or a Tourist Card can be obtained at the Embassy of the Republic of Suriname in New Delhi
E7/12, Ground Floor, Vasant Vihar.
Warning:
Non-compliance with the visa regulations will result in deportation of the passenger at carriers' expense.

Health:
- Vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory for all passengers arriving from or transiting through countries with infected or endemic areas.
- Malaria risk is high throughout the year in the three southern districts of the country.
Additional information:
- Import license is required for firearms, ammunition and other weapons
- Pets (incl. wildlife) must be accompanied by a health certificate from the veterinary authority issued at point of origin and must be within 2 weeks of departure.
- Dogs and cat-like animals may be imported from any country provided they are in good health and have been vaccinated against rabies not less than 30 days before arrival.
- The veterinary authority in Paramaribo must be notified for examination. If accompanying documents do not meet the requirements, the animals will be quarantined or admittance will be refused.
- Local currency is the Surinamese Dollars (SRD).
- Foreign currency amounts exceeding USD 10.000 must be declared on arrival and departure.
