International Trade Logistics is designed as a textbook for students of postgraduate management programmes specializing in international business. It will also be useful for students specializing in operations. The book provides extensive coverage of the logistics infrastructure of India's foreign trade system.

Beginning with an overview of India's trade scenario, the book provides an in-depth discussion on the factors affecting the choice of mode of transport, information and order processing in trade logistics, functions of packing and packaging, labelling and marking, inventory, and warehouse management, unitization, palletization, and stowing of cargo. It also discusses the role of inland container depots (ICDs) and container freight stations (CFSs) in trade logistics as well as incoterms. A brief overview of India's transport infrastructure, such as land, air, and ocean transportation, is provided. Special emphasis is laid on ocean transportation such as containerization, liner, and tramp shipping, freighting principles, and Indian shipping. The concept of multimodal transportation is also dealt with in detail. The book also provides extensive coverage of documentation practices, risks in international trade, marine insurance and claim procedure, role of intermediaries, and maritime fraud.

A rich pedagogy that includes numerous tables, illustrations, exhibits, and case studies add value to the book. Numerous multiple choice questions and review questions at the end of every chapter will help the students test their understanding of the concepts covered in this book.
